Pushing Peak

Compared with the apps you have already tried

Most people arriving here have used at least one of these. So rather than pretend they are bad, here is what each one is genuinely better at, and where we think the trade stops being worth it.

We wrote all of these, so read them accordingly. We are not a neutral party and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

What we can do is be accurate. Every comparison below names what the other app does better before it says anything about us, and none of them are strawmen: MyFitnessPal, Cal AI and ChatGPT are all genuinely good at what they were built for. If you read one and conclude the other app suits you better, that is a fine outcome and we would rather you find that out now.

Pushing Peak and MyFitnessPal

Where they win. A food database we cannot match, built over fifteen years of people typing in what they ate. For finding a specific brand at a specific supermarket, it beats us most days.

It was built to record a day. This was built to plan one. That difference shows up at five in the morning, when a ledger can tell you what you ate yesterday but not what this session needs.

Pushing Peak and Cal AI

Where they win. Logging a meal is faster. Photograph it and move on, which is the reason most people who quit food logging would not have quit.

The trade is what the number is worth once it is in. Ours comes back as items you can open, check against a published source and correct. Theirs is an estimate from an image.

Pushing Peak and ChatGPT

Where they win. Understanding. It will explain why carbohydrate timing matters, go as deep as you want, and never make you feel silly for asking. Use it for that.

It answers the question and then forgets it. It does not hold the plan, it will not be there on Thursday, and it does not know what you did on Tuesday.

Not a comparison, but the one people ask for next: what to actually eat before a morning session. And if you want to check our arithmetic rather than take a verdict on trust, every number we use traces back to published work.

See it on your own week

Put your training in and look at what the day asks for. That is a faster answer than any comparison.
